I have an official Date of Departure (from Portland). D-Day of course: June 6.
My first day as a full time sailor was April Fool's Day.
Dock party was on Derby Day.
So D-Day on D-day seems fitting.
Plan to leave Astoria for the ocean June 9th or 10th after making my way 80 miles downriver.
who'd a thought the internet could actually make me feel geographically closer to someone -- good stuff.
